content optimizationWebsites with lower page rank in search engines need to be optimized for higher page rank. Search engine robots track and locate a website on the basis of keywords in the content of the site. That is why; keywords are the first and foremost element in the process of content optimization. A keyword is a search phrase that the user uses while searching for a website or blog in search engines. Keyword research one of the SEO strategies is a must to select potential and popular keywords in keeping with the content of websites or blogs. You need to be picky in this case.

Keyword density is a consideration for proper content optimization. Though no thumb rule is there regarding keyword density in a webpage content, the density of keywords in a webpage depends on the volume of its content. Keyword density varies with different search engines. If keyword density exceeds beyond 2%, Google considers it spamming. Yahoo and MSN allow 5% keyword density per webpage. The Google bot crawls keywords in the webpage text while other search engine robots pay attention to keywords in titles and meta tags.

Popularity of keywords is another factor causing variation in the level of keyword density. It is enough to have one keyword per page if the keyword is highly competitive. Websites with two or three low competitive keywords per page are in the focus of search engine crawlers. Search phrases mostly consist of competitive keywords. Therefore, the content of home page and internal pages should be optimized with such keywords.

1% keyword density in a text of 100 words works for content optimization. But, the use of only one keyword in every thousand words is the bane of your website ranking in search engine result pages. Search engine spiders take into account the number of keywords per page to determine the relevance of the webpage content. One-keyword-per-text of 100 words is a search engine-friendly policy for content optimization. The position of keywords is too important to discard from the long and short of content optimization.
